Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
FIRSIGHT LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY ("Firsight", "we", "our", "us") provides a professional matching platform. This Privacy Policy covers the Firsight iOS app, firsight.net, admin/support surfaces, and related services. It is drafted to cover our current product and, within reasonable compliance redundancy, GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and other U.S. state privacy laws, PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25, and comparable laws.
2. Information We Collect
We collect account identifiers, email address, authentication/session data, optional phone number when phone verification is enabled, profile and professional information, employer/job/application data, favorites, messages, attachments, photos, videos, audio or voice introductions, reports, support tickets, timestamps, read state, verification records, device/app data, IP-derived coarse region, push tokens, search queries, feature interactions, recommendation impressions, crash data, and performance data. If you choose to share a location in chat, we collect the precise coordinates selected or resolved for that message; we do not continuously track background location. We do not intentionally collect government ID numbers or biometric identifiers in the current production Service, and we do not receive banking credentials, card numbers, balances, payouts, or transaction history.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to operate accounts, profiles, discovery, recommendations, job posts, applications, messaging, notifications, support, privacy tools, employer verification, safety review, fraud prevention, content moderation, analytics, debugging, legal compliance, and policy communications. We do not sell personal information for money and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Legal Bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)
Where applicable, we rely on contract performance, legitimate interests, consent, and legal obligation. Legitimate interests include safety, security, fraud prevention, product improvement, support, and enforcing our Terms, balanced against user rights.
5. U.S. State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy, opt out of sale/share/targeted advertising or certain profiling, limit sensitive personal information, appeal a decision, and avoid discrimination. These rights may apply under CCPA/CPRA, VCDPA, CPA, CTDPA, UCPA, TDPSA, and similar state laws as they take effect. Use Settings -> Account & data, Settings -> Privacy, or email support@firsight.net; we may verify your identity and authorized-agent authority.
6. Do Not Sell or Share; Global Privacy Control
Firsight does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. The iOS app does not include third-party advertising SDKs and does not use IDFA/ATT tracking. If a browser sends Global Privacy Control, we treat it as a request to opt out of any future sale, sharing, or targeted advertising for that browser if those activities become applicable.
7. Sensitive Personal Information
Sensitive information may include precise location you choose to send, private messages and attachments, authentication tokens, verification information, and optional background or professional details. We use it only for requested features, security, trust verification, legal compliance, and user protection; not for advertising inference, sale, or sharing.
8. Biometric Information
Firsight does not currently collect, generate, or store biometric identifiers such as face geometry, faceprints, fingerprints, or voiceprints. Photos, videos, and audio are treated as ordinary media files for profile, messaging, support, safety, and moderation. Any future biometric feature would require notice, consent where required, and an updated policy.
9. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling
We use automated processing to rank feeds, compute profile/job readiness, recommend people and roles, route verification options, filter unsafe content, and protect the Service. These systems do not make final hiring, employment, credit, housing, insurance, or legal decisions about you. Contact us to exercise any applicable opt-out right.
10. Canada (PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25)
Canadian users may request access, correction, deletion or de-indexing where available, withdrawal of consent subject to limits, information about automated processing, and a portable copy of computerized personal information they provided. The Privacy Officer can be reached at support@firsight.net. The Service is operated from the United States with contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards.
11. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The iOS app does not use browser cookies. Our websites use strictly necessary technologies for locale routing, support, security, and basic functionality, including a language cookie. We may use aggregate analytics and performance tools such as Vercel Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights, and Sentry. We do not use advertising cookies to build cross-site behavioral profiles.
12. Communications, SMS, and Marketing
We send transactional communications such as email one-time codes, security alerts, support replies, policy notices, account deletion notices, and requested notifications. If SMS/phone OTP is enabled, message and data rates may apply and STOP may block further SMS verification. Marketing emails, if sent, include an unsubscribe path.
13. Sub-processors and Service Providers
Current providers include Supabase for database/auth/storage/realtime, Vercel for hosting/edge/analytics/performance, Apple for App Store and push notifications, Resend for transactional email, Sentry for diagnostics, and Twilio where SMS is enabled. If you choose connected-account employer verification where configured, Square or Stripe may process account identity needed for verification. Plaid is not an active production verification provider in the current Service. See https://firsight.net/privacy/sub-processors.
14. Employer Verification and Connected Accounts
Firsight may verify employer context through work email, organization membership attestations, admin-reviewed manual requests, public business registry review, and, where configured and chosen, Square or Stripe connected-account verification. We record minimum verification results and do not read customers, balances, payouts, card numbers, or transaction history. Public registry data may confirm company existence but does not alone prove personal authority.
15. International Data Transfers
Firsight is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from elsewhere, information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and provider locations. For EEA/UK/Swiss transfers, we use safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK IDTA/addendum, and provider data-processing terms where applicable.
16. Data Retention
We retain data as reasonably needed to provide the Service, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with law, and enforce agreements. Account deletion enters a 30-day grace period; signing back in cancels deletion. After the grace period, we delete or de-identify account data and request authentication identity deletion, except limited records retained for legal, fraud, tax, accounting, safety, or dispute purposes.
17. Your Rights
Subject to law, you may access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, port, withdraw consent, opt out, appeal, or complain to a regulator. Use in-app controls under Settings -> Privacy and Settings -> Account & data, update your profile directly, or email support@firsight.net.
18. How to Access, Download, or Delete Your Data
In the app, open Profile -> Settings -> Account & data to download a machine-readable copy or request deletion. Downloading does not delete your account. Deletion schedules the 30-day grace period and signs you out. You may also email support@firsight.net for privacy help, appeals, or authorized-agent requests.
19. Security
We use TLS, provider-managed encryption at rest, iOS Keychain storage for sensitive runtime material, role-based access controls, row-level security, audit logs, secret scanning, storage upload scanning, supported media metadata stripping, and crash/error scrubbing. No system is perfectly secure; if notice is required, we will notify affected users and regulators as required by law.
20. Children
The Service is intended for users at least sixteen (16) years old and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under thirteen (13) or knowingly allow anyone under sixteen to create an account. Contact support@firsight.net if you believe a child provided information.
21. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will update the date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app, by email, on the website, or by another legally required method before the changes take effect.
